Sony hasn't forgotten about you loyal mylo 2 (er, COM-2 mylo) owners just yet, as a recently rolled out software update provides a nice list of extras for those who care. Revision 1.201, which is only available for the latest of mylos, adds support for video recording, provides a new menu for "easier photo and video uploading," adds a function for formatting Memory Stick Duo media, adds support for 16GB MD Duo cards and improves Flash playback of YouTube videos. The upgrade also adds support for WMV files and the SHOUTcast widget while improving "system stability." The download is slightly hefty at just under 60MB, so head on down and get the new stuff headed your way.

Welcome to this week's Movie/Music news roundup, containing new Japanese and Hong Kong Video and Music releases from this week listed at Play-Asia.com. Around 900 new items are covered in this week, including new J-Pop, Anime as well as Japanese, Hong Kong and Western movie releases and much more.
Final Fantasy background music often merges rock elements with the classical and prompts a wide range of remixes. This time, a selection of pieces from Final Fantasy XI are rearranged to suit the tastes of people partial to piano melodies.
By performing the pieces on a piano, the composer and the piano collection's producer Suida Naoshi brings out the elegant, mystical atmosphere and the grand landscape of the game.
After some graceful piano melodies, Play-Asia.com brings you One Love [limited and standard editions], the theme song to Hana yori dango Final, performed by Arashi.
One Love is a song with a light hearted, relaxed tempo that portrays the maturation of the relationship between the hero and heroine, and to wrap up the live drama series, several touching scenes are included in the lyrics.
For all Hana yori dango addicts, or soon-to-be addicts out there, please check out this list for more products under the Hana yori dango franchise.
Another series that is coming to a final is Death Note. Although both the manga and anime came to an end some time ago, the live action movie's producers have created another spin off product by featuring existing characters in an original movie.
L has paid the price with his life to catch the killer in the previous movies and L Change the World tells the detective's fans how he spent his last days.
Please check here for the list of Death Note products available at Play-Asia.com.
As Hanayori Dango and Death Note both come to an end, Macross Frontier celebrates the birth of a new star, Ranka Lee. With the support from her friends and fans, the teenager published her first CD single Seikan Hikou.
Other interesting video game soundtracks include Sengoku Basara X, a perfect collection of music to rouse your combative mood.
Here's a summary of all new releases that were published between Saturday, June 21st and Friday, June 27th. If some specific item that you are looking for is missing, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service with your request.

I heard from someone whose friend worked in the U.S. Tec Toy office a bunch more information about the coming Genie console (not Jeanie as was previously reported). This is coming third-hand, but seems reliable, but let's call it rumor for now. First, the console will be released in Brazil initially, as stands to reason. You should not be able to download games on a Brazilian console if you manage to take it outside of Brazil, and it will be heavily crippled by DRM. They are reportedly going to meetings in China frequently, which may be the second place the console is released. One of the partners is reportedly Gameloft. They will be targeting lower-economic countries as we know, which may be more accepting of the mobile architecture.
Reinaldo Normand is the creator of the Genie concept, and was previously at Tec Toy USA - but now he's running something called Zeebo (beware of music), about which nothing is solidly known, but which does have Mike Yuen of Qualcomm on the board. Since the Genie is a product of Qualcomm and Tec Toy jointly, it stands to reason that Zeebo has something to do with it, especially as it's offering SDKs. More on this thing that only I care about as it develops!

Welcome to this week's toys update. Check out the wonderful collectibles we just got in stock and all the new products made available for preorder.
As toys, especially collectible ones, are produced in limited numbers and are often sold out prior to the actual release date, we strongly recommend to preorder the figures of your desire as early as possible.
Trading figures from Devil May Cry 2 are chosen as the bargain items this week. Coolness and style are not inhibited by size. Although these trading figures are quite small, standing at approximately 8cm tall, they are action figures also with multiple points of articulation.
The lists below show what has been released this week and what is available for preordering.
Feel free to reconstruct the stunning scenes in the game, or invent new story events for the characters with these figures.
They are now sold at a bargain price of US$ 2.49 each and the maximum purchase is limited to 3 pieces per customer. As usually, this weekly special is valid for exactly 1 week (if not sold out earlier).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beautiful women are stars of this week's preorders. Air is somewhat of a T.V celebrity as she is both designed for and in a Japanese National TV program Plamo Tsukurou (Let's make Plastic models).
Due to her immense popularity, she is now not only available for your eyes through a TV screen, but also for your possession. Designed by the illustrator Ni0, Air has a pair of seductive cat like eyes that shines golden.
Tsukuru Shirahige, the sculptor has said that Air is a product that combines beauty, mecha and super deformed mascot in the same package. The beauty part is obvious while the mecha and deformed mascot is melded together into one giant airbrush.
The tank of the airbrush is designed as a tiny robot, so this package is does not only answer the dreams of collectors who adores beauty, but those who worships high quality mecha and cutely deformed mascots as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although Mirei is an original character not attached to any specific anime or manga, but in her creator, Yamashita Shunya's mind, it seems like she has a role to fulfill. She is a woman with a hidden agenda, by masquerading as a teacher in Arisugawa Shii's high school, she is seeking to complete her mission as an assasin.
S.Y highschool seems like a very exciting place now, first there is the sword yielding prefect Shii, now we have a darkly sensual teacher. Since there is no specific story associated with these characters, feel free to purchase their busts and come up with your own story to connect them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gothic Lolita is a style fast becoming trendy these days and in more ways than one, the futuristic city Tokyo-3 mirrors the current Tokyo.
With her model like figure, Asuka is depicted in some perfectly matched Gothic Lolita styled garments. This figure of her portrays the innocence of youth with the softly layered tafetta skirts and lacy accessories.
The figure comes with a specially designed base, so don't worry about not being able to find the perfect place for her to model her great outfit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aside from beautiful women, a preorder for the first class Kabuki mono is opened as well. Maeda Keiji is the epitome of manliness, aside from being exceptionally talented in the battle field, he is very well educated and has penned quite a few books considered classical literature today.
The figure makers has chosen to depict him as a war hero, with his spear in his hand and his bright red armor donned on, he is ready to charge forwards to war. Unlike many who fights for victory, Keiji fights for the weaker side in battles as this poses more of a challenge to his superior fighting skills.
With his war horse Matsukaze, the model of Keiji is sure to become a collector's most prized item.
The lists below show what has been released this week and what is available for preordering.

Hi All,
Xroar is the best emulator of Dragon32/64 and Tandy Coco home computer
running on many systems such as Linux, Unix, Mac OS X, GP32 and Windows32.
See http://www.6809.org.uk/dragon/xroar.shtml for further informations.
GP2X-Dragon is a port on GP2X of the PSP version of Xroar.
Special thanks to Danzel and Jeff Chen for their virtual keyboard, Ciaran
Anscomb for this great emulator, Raven's for eboot icons and to all GP2X SDK developpers.
What's new then ?
- Fix sound issue using the patch sent by original X-roar's author,
aka Ciaran himself (big thanks to him !!)
- Bug fix with volume settings (it didn't work properly)
- A thumbnail image is now displayed in the file requester
while selecting any file with the same name of a previously
saved game (rom, keyboard, settings).
It might be very helpful to recognize that game later if you
have thousand different games on your disk and rom folders !
- The virtual keyboard is now usable in the file requester menu to
choose the first letter of the game you search !
How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.
Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.
Here is a full working binary and source :

Watch out, Sony PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS. A new portable game console that could rival the market heavyweights is set to hit the shelves here next year.
This week, South Korean firm Posdata showed off what would be the first handheld console in Singapore that has a built-in wireless broadband connection.
The Flyvo G100 comes with familiar directional buttons like those found on the Nintendo DS.
But it also hooks up to the Internet using WiMax, a wireless technology characterised as a long-range version of Wi-Fi. This means users can play games online with friends wherever they go, and not just at cafes and other hot spots providing Wi-Fi.
Local Internet service provider QMax Communications, which is now rolling out a WiMax network here, will sell the game device, along with its wireless broadband service.
QMax director Alex Tan said the company plans to bring the G100 here next year, although the price has not been set.
The device runs on Microsoft's Windows CE software, sports a 4-inch screen and has 4GB of space to store games and other files.
Its main challenge, acknowledged Mr Tan, is to come up with hit games. Sony and Nintendo have both built up libraries of popular titles over the years, while Posdata will be starting from scratch.

Back when I was your age, we played games that sucked and were no fun and we liked it, because it built character, and building character was fun (it was an early form of achievement farming). In fact, we used a slide projector to create finger-shadow combatants for Mortal Kombat, and it was a hoot when granddad had to roll the dice correctly in the correct order to get a fatality.
So that's a big brown blip on the bullshit radar, isn't it. Yeah, thought so. Instead for you, GamesRadar has a comprehensive timeline of all of the video game consoles of the 1970s and I was surprised to learn just how many there were besides the 2600 and the Pong console. Oh, some family friends had the Fairchild (above), that made visiting their home like going to a foreign country where the toilets flushed backward. Except for the Odyssey (actually, we only saw the Odyssey II) I don't think anything other than the Atari retailed in my hometown. Then again, we didn't get a McDonald's until 1980. We had to have our birthday parties at a typewriter repair shop. And we liked it!

As she is the first female fighter in single player combat games, everyone is familiar with Chun Li the Interpol officer who strives to avenge her father and bring down evil in the process.
The muscles crafted to her body suggest the strenuous martial arts training she recieves and that she is not a person to cross.
Chun Li is sold at a bargain price of US$ 12.90. The maximum purchase is limited to 2 pieces per customer. As usually, this weekly special is valid for exactly 1 week (if not sold out earlier).
Kiryu Kazuma, the ex-boss of Tojo-kai, the true dragon of Japan as well as the legendary Yakuza hero is made into a figure. With his eyes sharp and muscles taut, he is ready to show all the roughmen within the vicinity who's the boss.
A yakuza's identity is proven not only by his leadership skills or his prowess as a fighter but also by the tattoo he wears on his back. The vivid and colorful rising dragon on Kiryu's back gives him both his nickname and symbolizes his heroism.
To emphasize his status, this figure of him comes with his weapons, a Japanese sword and a baseball bat as well as a special stand that lights up with a press of a switch that lends much drama to this hero.
The main playable character and super weapon Master Chief from Halo is brought from the television screen to the 3D world by Kotobukiya.
He is depicted as crouching within the semi-opaque bubble shield in a battle pose. Fans looking forward to seeing his weapons and thrilling action will be pleased, for this package comes with his assault rifle and two machine guns held at the ready for firing.
Space ships from vintage arcade shooting games such as R-Type and Gradius are released as trading toys, now you can land them beside your collection of planes or the figures of your favorite pilots on your desk or shelf.
Although these are miniature versions of the planes in the games, they are loyally modelled, sculpted and colored with attention paid to the last detail.
This series will include two repainted versions of the vessels as well as a secret version, so be sure to watch out for those as you complete your collection.
Girls who models military wear and weapons are hot, just like the nameless model featuring in the pin-up poster in the military magazine MC Akushizu. Drawn by the famous game character designer and illustrator Yamashita Shunya, this girl has a body shape that shames even super models.
The rifle she is holding is modelled after the M2 12.7mm automatic machine gun with barrels and screws in all the right places and is just as flawlessly proportioned as the girl.
The lists below show what has been released this week and what is available for preordering.

An astute SMS Power forumgoer noted a Brazilian news article linking to a patent filed with the European patent office by Brazil's Sega licensor Tec Toy. The patent covers a "System for using electronic device and the electronic device." This is essentially a game console. So what kind? The closest idea is the Phantom, but the Phantom, if done right, would actually have been pretty ok.
The system described here is a home console that is connected to a television or display, but uses mobile phone technology to run the games, and also to purchase and download games and content (to quote the filing: "Internet navigation, news, virtual communities, movies, music, etc"). The patent goes on to say that while it's using the model of mobile phones, it is not necessarily using the same networks. Naturally, it will include memory for storing these downloaded games and content. There will be a Joypad (good thing), and it actually supports existing mobile development platforms so that existing mobile games can be played on it - platforms such as J2ME, DoJa, Brew, EGE, Symbian, Pocket PC, Smartphone, etc. The patent also mentions the requisite pack-in games. It says there "could be" some games packed in with the hardware, which would be free of charge. Additional games will be available by digital download only, but could also be stored on memory cards or pen drives. It also seems you would be able to download and pay via your phone, if all goes well.
The aforementioned Brazilian article, translated by niloct on the SMS Power forums, sheds more light on the subject. Apparently the system is code-named "Jeanie," and Tec Toy marketing manager André Faure reportedly said that it could turn into several products, and that the project is much larger than the patent. The patent was filed in December 2007, and Faure says parts of the project are "on 2008's horizons." Also, in February, Tec Toy sold 42.5% of its American business to Qualcomm, maker of mobile chips and wireless technology, which would also be the console's tech developer.
I personally wonder what will come of the Sega connection, if anything. Will we just get standard mobile games, or will the Master System library be downloadable? And what of regions? If the system could run the Japanese platforms, could I purchase the Valis games? I'm very curious to see how this will pan out. Thanks to Frank for pointing me to the thread in the first place.

Hi All,
Here is another version of GP2X-CAP32 the CPC emulator for GP2X.
For those who haven't seen previous versions, Caprice32 is one of
the best emulator of the Amstrad CPC home computer series running
on Windows and Unix, written by Ulrich Doewich.
This emulator faithfully imitates the CPC464, CPC664, and CPC6128 models
(see http://sourceforge.net/projects/caprice32)
What's new in version 1.4.1 :
- Bug fix in CRTC emulation (games such as Prehistorik II just couldn't be launched)
- Two drives (A & B) are now supported, but only drive A can be used to automatically start a game.
It might be useful with symbOS to put the OS disk on drive 'A:' and application disk on 'B:'
How to use it ? Everything is in the README file.
This package is under GPL Copyright, read COPYING file for more information about it.
Here is a full working binary and source :

Hi All,
Here a new (final?) version of PSPCAP32 the CPC Emulator for PSP.
For those who haven't seen previous versions, Caprice32 is one of the best emulator of the Amstrad CPC home computer series running on Windows and Unix, written by Ulrich Doewich.
This emulator faithfully imitates the CPC464, CPC664, and CPC6128 models
(see Caprice 32)

This homebrew has been tested on both FAT and SLIM (thanks to Greg) with cfw 3.90-m33 + add fw1.5, but it should work on any other DAX custom firmwares.

Ben Heckendorn, a total techno whiz and contributor to Engadget, has completed his latest custom handheld ... this time cramming an Atari 7800 into something you can carry around with you. (It's no PSP slim, but hey.)
Heck's 7800 portable combines a 7-inch LCD screen with some notable goodies, including video out, rechargeable batteries, and a paddle controller (in addition to the basic D-Pad). As usual, Heck made the thing just to prove he could. His past creations cover a wide variety of gaming "dream tech," including a portable SNES, "PS360" controller, and a Wii "laptop." He's also the brains behind the Access Controller, a commercially available one-handed pad for PS2, PS3, and PC. The fella is crazy creative – give a look-see to his body of work!

We’ve seen Gameboy mods before, but I didn’t know you could repurpose one to act as a guitar effects and sample loop box. That’s just what software Nanoloop does, and since you don’t really want to be jabbing at a D-pad while you’re meant to be concentrating on your frets, Joey Mariano has just the breakout-box hack necessary.
Check out the video of the system in action after the cut
The Gameboy itself undergoes some drastic surgery, with the battery compartment removed and various wires hooked up to the circuitboard’s button traces. They terminate on a DB-15 serial port, which links up to a custom breakout box; mains power routed through there keeps the Gameboy going, while it also has sockets to plug in standard sustain pedals to control the handheld.
What you end up with is a way to trigger all manner of loops, samples, effects and even macros without interrupting your playing. Check out Joey’s video below to see how it all comes together.

Hi All,
VecX emulates the Vectrex game console on systems such as Linux and Windows.
It has been written by Valavan Manohararajah.
PSP-VE is a port on PSP of one latest version of VecX.
What's new then ?
- Major speed improvements :
+ 6809 emulation
+ vector rendering
+ remove vector cash (buggy and time consuming)
- Sound emulation completly rewritten and inspired
from 8910 driver of xmame.
- The rotate 90' view is now much faster and it is used
as default render mode.
- Save state modification, it is now faster to save state
(but previously saved games are not compatible with this
new version !)
- Add .vec and .gam file extention as valid rom extention
- Add option to change color between gray and blue
How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.
Thanks to Raven for the eboot icon's stuff.
Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence v2, read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.
You can find it here : http://zx81.zx81.free.fr
Enjoy,
Zx.

Hi All,http://forums.qj.net/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=2062480
First of all, happy father's day to all dad's
Here is a new version of PSPWrite the text editor for PSP
It permits to edit even huge text file, in both dos and unix mode, using iso8859-1 (8bits) characters encoding. All iso8859-1 characters are present in the "Danzeff like" virtual keyboard.
The IR keyboard support is based on the work of Harald Fielker.
It has been developed on linux for Firmware 1.5 and 3.90-m33, and for the IR keyboard part it has been tested using a Targus Universal IR Wireless keyboard.
What's new then in 1.0.5 ?
- New graphics based on hackePeter work
- Add eboot's music
- The virtual keyboard is now usable in the file requester menu
- Fix IR keyboard issue with fw >= 3.80 for PSP FAT
- Reduce default PSP clock speed (133 Mhz is good enough to write text)
How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.
Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.
All files are there : http://zx81.zx81.free.fr/
Enjoy,
Zx.
PS: If you forgot to write a letter to wish your father all the best, then you can still do it using pspwrite :Jump:
