Look, we'll be straight with you, we've seen a lot of PMPs that can rock double-duty as an NES emulator, like this one, this one, and this one (which quite honestly looks real, real similar to the Chi S70), and truthfully, we could just skip this little guy, with its metal exterior, and ATMEL AT91SAM9261 processor, and QVGA screen, and MPEG-4, MP3, WMA, WAV, and PCM playback. Additionally, it's not like we have to to mention its ability to play NES, GB, GBC, and MD-ROM games -- but listen -- we really dig scrappy, somewhat illegal Chinese-made gizmos that can play our NES collection.

Designed to match your active lifestyle, the Xacti CG65 is small and light enough to slip into your pocket or purse anytime. Its slim, vertical design makes it easy and comfortable to operate. The Xacti CG65 excels at recording beautiful, high-sensitivity movies. Its 6.37-megapixel CCD and 5x optical zoom help you capture the essence of a scene as it unfolds. When you’re shooting in low light, an automatic frame-rate adjustment feature lets you record more detail. And, since movies are recorded in the highly compressed MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, you can fit a lot more of them onto a memory card.

Panasonic has introduced a compact 12.2-megapixel point-and-shoot camera with a wide-angle 3.6x zoom lens. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100 sports an optically stabilized Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens with an f/2.8-5.6 maximum aperture and a 28mm-100mm (35mm camera equivalent) focal-length range, as well as a 207,000-pixel, 2.5-inch LCD. The camera uses Panasonic's Venus Engine III processor to boost shooting speed and performance. Panasonic is also touting the FX100's built-in flash, which it claims has a reach of up to 16 meters; presumably that's at higher ISO settings. The FX100 doesn't provide manual or priority exposure control, but it does give the photographer plenty of flexibility in programmed and fully automatic shooting modes. There are 21 scene modes, including a high-sensitivity option that uses settings between ISO 1600 and 6400. The camera's automatic shutter speed range runs from 1/2000 to 8 seconds, with 15-, 30-, and 60-second speeds selectable via the Starry Sky Mode.

This is a PSP adoptation of Hex-A-Hop, a puzzle game based on hexagonal tiles, by Tom Beaumont.
The objective is simply to destroy all the green hexagonal tiles on each of the 100 levels. As you progress through the game, more types of tiles are introduced which make things more difficult and interesting (hopefully).

Gameplay video:
Download:
http://deniska.dcemu.co.uk/bin/hex-a-hop.rar
http://deniska.dcemu.co.uk/bin/hex-a-hop_kexploited.rar
:::Please copy/paste the link above in to browser's url box:::
(Forum's attachment size seems to be limited to 2MB, which is not enough for most game projects)
INSTALLATION
--------
The game only runs on PSPs with original firmware versions: 1.0, 1.5 and on custom firmwares, which allow execution of
unsigned homebrew code.
Copy hex-a-hop (and hex-a-hop% for 1.5 fw) folder from the zip file in to /PSP/GAME on your memory stick.
CONTROLS

I have tried deniska's rRootage port guide but it was unsuccessful. I'm doing my best to find what's wrong by trying to find more guides so as to aid me in my porting quest. If you have tips for me or would like to start your own porting guide. Please do post here. also you can email me at yahoo. id is vhangell

Hi Guys,
Here is a tested solution to get the Garmin GPS18 PC
to work with the PSP and MapThis! program.
The problem with my GPS18 is that the output is closer
to RS232 standard than desired for this application,
and the GPS transmit line must be inverted.
Lucky only one directional comms is used so a single
transistor circuit is needed that will fit into a DB9 backshell,
or hidden inside an XLR connector.
One of the 1K resistors in the circuit is the usual
resistor in series with the PSP serial Rx line that is used in most
homebrew cables for the MapThis! application.
You can try higher values to reduce the current as
much as can be tolerated before your setup fails,
then lower the value a little to ensure reliable communication.
The 4x AA battery pack is required to power the GPS unit since it
has no compartment for batteries of it's own.
The same battery pack powers this circuit, and since it has a biult
in switch, that can be used to power the GPS mouse on and off.
The GPS18 is a high end unit priced at over $200 in Australia,
and I don't know how many other brand units will have
the same characteristic which is desirable in some applications..
Cheers, Art.

via Absolute Gadget
Here at Absolute Gadget we love games. But sometimes our gaming obsession can lead to mountains of peripherals crowding our space, which could be used for more gadgets. Maybe this will help. Thrustmaster have launched a pad that will work for your PS3, PS2 and your PC. The Dual Trigger 3 in 1 controller features all the usual buttons you would expect from a Playstation pad, including mini-sticks and the home button for PS3 owners.
Just like the official PS3 pad it also features 6 axes. A switch on the underside of the pad allows you to switch between PC and console without having to change any settings on the pad itself.
There is also a mapping function allowing gamers to save their own control configurations thanks to the pad's internal memory. This will no doubt come in useful when your annoying friend who changes the whole button layout to play Tekken visits.
A preset button will allow said chum to switch to their preferred configuration at the touch of a button.
The Dual 3 in 1 Trigger pad will cost £14.99, with a rumble force version for PC at £19.99. They will be available in September from Thrustmaster.

z88dk is a z80 C cross compiler supplied with an assembler/linker and a set of libraries implementing the C standard library for a number of different z80 based machines.
The compiler featured in z88dk is a much enhanced Small C compiler; the compiler accepts many features of ANSI C and is only deficient in a few areas where implementation on a z80 processor might prove inefficient. The compiler performs simple optimisations, but the bulk of the optimisation is achieved by a set of peep-hole rules, which will typically reduce the size of a large project by up to a third.
The libraries supplied with z88dk are designed to be as generic as possible, indeed it is possible to port to a new machine simply by supplying two library routines and some startup code.
This version adds support for the SEGA MASTER SYSTEM along with Newbrain, Rabbit and the TS2068.
All interested coders can visit the official page at http://www.z88dk.org/

Retro Treasures points us to a set of "handheld" arcade games (more like tabletop) up for auction on eBay. Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaxian, and Dracula have been preserved from the dark era of 1981 and are fully operational, supporting two players simultaneously and running off those not-necessarily-rechargeable things called C batteries. The auctioneer has several other tabletop arcade games on the block, including Donkey Kong and Q-Bert. The prices seem a little steep for some, but sometimes nostalgia knows no limits.
