Ultimate Play the Game released many incredible titles in the 80's, games such as Knightlore, Jetpac, Sabre Wulf and Gunfright to name but a few. But today's news is something special for Amstrad owners, as the rather famous ZX Spectrum and BBC Micro game of Atic Atac, which was also released as a stunning unofficial overhaul for the C64 by Steven Day and Tomcat, will be coming over to the Amstrad CPC thanks to the hard work of shaymanjohn.

Although this is not a new demo or a new feature update, thanks to another great video by Saberman, he has done a footage walkthrough of the 7 levels of the upcoming 'Prince of Persia' port; a port of an all time classic game released in 1989 by Brøderbund which is currently being developed by Rensoup. If you haven't heard of Prince of Persia before, it was a very difficult yet enjoyable platformer, which was released for multiple systems and featured lots of well designed platforming levels and extreme danger, as you must be careful not to fall through loose floors, get hit by sword wielding guards, crushed by gates or at worst skewered in blood on deadly spikes.

Snake originally came about in the mid 1970's and over the years has seen many different versions and variations on different systems. The main Goal? To gain a high enough score while controlling a snake like creature, moving around a square screen area collecting food while also avoiding your tail or other obstacles as it grows ever larger with each bite. However each variation of the Snake theme has generally been the same until today, as TND has released their latest C64 game called "The Forever Extending Hungry Snake".

As the C64 was my first computer you would think it was the system which first introduced me to the magic of play at home video gaming. But actually it wasn't, because before my family brought home the bread bin that day, I’d been playing some of the Nintendo Game & Watch handheld games. Including my favourite: Mario’s Cement Factory. For almost as long as I can remember I’ve been wanting to make a game for the C64 - But apart from some BASIC text adventures and messing around in SEUCK, I never quite managed it until now.

At Songbird Productions you can now purchase Xump by Retroguru for your Atari Lynx! The game ROM will stay free of charge. This is not to be confused with Xump 2.
Help Holger to clean up deserted space fields. As this is a very dangerous task for a human being a headbot named Xump will be the one who has to suffer.
Your main task is to clean all dissolving tiles on several single-screen levels by simply stepping on them, one by one. Few fields are secured with mines and need a double tap. Mines can be blown up when passing by or disarmed by Xump when staying on this specific field for a short moment. Certainly the mission sounds easier than it will be.

Intellivision Amico is one of the anomaly consoles that we see from time to time. It is not cutting-edge technology, nor is it trying to be. The Amico is geared towards fans that want that old school feel and fun in a new package. Tommy Tallarico has spearheaded this re-emergence of the Intellivision brand. New blood often means new direction. That is exactly what is happening here. Now the European distribution partner has been announced. It is a big one.

I'm sure many retro gamers will remember Thrust, which was first published by Firebird Software Ltd and released in 1986. It also originally came on a multitude of systems including the Atari 2600, Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit, Atari ST, BBC Micro, Commodore 16, Plus/4, Commodore 64, Electron, Vectrex, and ZX Spectrum. Well if you wait until the 28th of May on Steam, Dr. Kucho Games will be releasing their graphically appealing Thrust inspiration, which they are calling 'Pilots of Darsalon'.

Although I'm not usually a fan of puzzle games, I get frustrated way too easily! We've just found out from Antonio Savona via the Commodore 64/128 Facebook group, that he is working on a high quality puzzle game for the C64 called BoxyMoxy. This game according to the coder who had also worked on L’abbaye Des Morts, Planet Golf and Chopper Command, has said that he is currently coding the game with Lobo and Aldo Chiummo, and the game is going to be full on unforgiving puzzle gameplay that will soon be published through RGCD.

A double heads up for Sunday, as we've not only been told by Saberman, but as of this afternoon, Per Ola has also mentioned that the classic game of 'Aztec Challenge' may be coming to the Commodore Amiga CD32 as a remake developed by Cobe, D4rk 3lf and Bluegestalt. If you've not heard of this game before, it was originally released in 1982 by Paul Norman, and see's your character through seven different dangerous levels such as spear throwing aztecs, climbing dangerous stairs, and the crossing of a deadly bridge.

We haven't featured the Amstrad for awhile now, so to change all that here's a piece of news you might be interested in, is an updated trailer announcement for the upcoming game Space Moves Part 2 for the Amstrad CPC by RetroBytes Productions. If you've heard of this game before, that's because the first version was originally released back in 2015 for the CPCRetroDev competition as a title we regarded as a great game that should've been released as a fully packed commercial experience.

Ah Chex Quest, there's a game that brings back memories of a time when everyone loved a good Doom style first person shooter and Chex Quest was the weirdest of the bunch. Originally created in 1996 by Digital Cafe, Chex Quest was released as a cereal promotion aimed at the much younger generation with hardly any of the adult variety featured in Doom, even though it was based on the Doom engine. Fast forward to today however and we have Chex Quest HD to play ; a free multiplayer remake of the classic 1996 FPS advergame of the same name which is now available on Steam.
