Intellivision's return to console manufacturing has been delayed, with its upcoming Amico device now due to launch in April 2021.
The console, which specialises in retro-style games, was originally slated for release on October 10, 2020 -- in the same quarter as the expected launches of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
But during an online press event today, the company revealed it has delayed the launch by six months to April 15, 2021.
An official release states the decision comes after efforts to "overcome the myriad of obstacles and constraints imposed by the global pandemic."
The console was first unveiled in October 2018 and was made available for pre-order earlier this year. During its first week, it pre-sold over 10,000 units with reports that retailers had ordered more than 100,000 units.

WinUAE v4.4.0 Beta 8 is released. WinUAE is the commodore amiga emulator for Windows. WinUAE is a mostly complete software emulation of the hardware of the Commodore Amiga 500/1000/2000. A Commodore Amiga, for those who don’t know, is a 16/32 bit computer system based on the Motorola 680×0 CPU and a few specially designed custom chips that provide very good graphics and sound capabilities. Its first incarnation, the A1000, appeared in 1985, followed by the highly successful A500 and A2000 models. WinUAE is a port of the originally written for Unixish systems UAE; but over time, it seems the Windows port, WinUAE has become the best version available on any platform. WinUAE is free software: you are welcome to distribute copies of it and/or modify it, under certain conditions. There is no warranty of any kind for UAE. For more details concerning these issues, please read the GNU General Public License, which describes the terms under which WinUAE is distributed.

Fans of the Super Mario Bros franchise, particularly 8 and 16-bit, will want to pay attention. DOS Mario, a title that has been around for decades, is being ported to the Commodore Amiga computer. Currently called Amigo, this fan port of a fan game looks rather interesting. All the basics are here, goombas, coin boxes, star power, etc. Just do not tell the Big N about it.

Super Mario Bros is owned by Nintendo. We all know that. The game is iconic as well. That is probably why it is the focus of fan ports. That is exactly what is going on here. The fan port to the Texas Instruments 99/4A is now at preview number 4. Please note, this is not a stock Texas Instruments computer, there is an add-on board – F18A – installed. Does not make it any less impressive.
