CPCEC / ZXSEC (2020/11/11) is released. CPCEC is an emulator of the family of home microcomputers Amstrad CPC (models 464, 664 and 6128) whose goal is to be loyal to the original hardware and efficient in standard modern systems. Thus it brings a faithful emulation of the Z80 microprocessor and it replicates the behavior of the CRTC 6845 and Gate Array video chips, the PSG AY-3-8912 sound chip, the remaining circuits found in the original hardware, and the tape deck and floppy disc drive that made possible loading and running software. ZXSEC is an emulator of the Sinclair Spectrum family (48k, 128k, +2/Plus2 and +3/Plus3) based on the components it shared with the Amstrad CPC family: the Z80 microprocessor, the PSG AY-3-8192 sound chip, the tape system and the NEC765 disc drive controller.

With the end of the CPCRetroDev 2020 fast approaching and lots of cool Amstrad games to play, one game we are really keen to load up on an Amstrad CPC is the upcoming game 'The Abduction of Oscar Z'. This game originally presented to the CPCRetroDev 2017 competition, is an arcade game where a boy, stolen from planet Earth along with some of his farm’s animals, tries to escape from an evil, yet somewhat clumsy alien.

Here on Indie Retro News we do love writing about the Atari XL/XE, especially with fabulous games being mentioned such as the upcoming Prince of Persia port, and the previously released Arcade shoot em up of Screaming Wings. Thankfully there's no let up in this greatness however, as thanks to a heads up on our main Facebook page, we've been told you can now purchase the Atari XL/XE game called Adam is Me; a game that is heavily inspired by "Baba Is You" by Arvi Teikari.

Blask and Duckstroma wasn't the only Amiga announcements sent to us this week, as thanks to a heads up by our good friend Per Ola, we've been shown an exclusive video tease to an upcoming Amiga game called Super Pumpkin Bros. For those of you who remember this game, will know that this was a colourful arcade platformer, and that we had mentioned the game back in 2018 as an unfinished preview from 2007 which was also revisited and uploaded through the Pouet database.

It was only just yesterday that we announced the latest release purchasable through Retronics called Adam is me : an Atari XL/XE game that is heavily inspired by "Baba Is You" by Arvi Teikari that features a great soundtrack and enjoyable gameplay. Well fast forward to this week however and another game is available for purchase with a completely different theme, and that's the fast paced racing game of 'LiteRally'.

Project ZX isn't the only game that we've played which features multiple nods to other games in one. As another game has surfaced which is rather unique, as it also has nods to other classics for the C64, is Picaro Games C64 release of ' Juanje Juega in Sinverland '; a new platformer whereby you must traverse many different levels, avoid deadly enemies and collect items which have been taken straight out of other great classics such as Pacman, Bruce Lee and even ET.

Possibly the last ZX Spectrum announcement for today unless something major comes out, is a new release by Amaweks called 'Devwill Too ZX'. This game available for purchase from itch.io, is an Arcade game based on the Mega Drive/Sega Genesis version, in which you must traverse multiple levels, avoid deadly traps or falling to your death, and get cool combo points for jumping on multiple enemies in each level.

The Amstrad CPC has certainly had its fair share of fun games released this week, especially with so many available to download via the CPCRetroDev 2020 competition that's available to view here. Still if you don't have an Amstrad but a ZX Spectrum, you might be interested in this piece of news, as thanks to both Saberman and Minilop letting us know, we've been told you can now play the 3 episodic ZX Spectrum game of ' Twenty Four Hour Parsley People',

Stella v6.4 is compiled. Stella is a multi-platform Atari 2600 VCS emulator. The Atari 2600 Video Computer System (VCS), introduced in 1977, was the most popular home video game system of the early 1980's. Now you can enjoy all of your favorite Atari 2600 games on your PC thanks to Stella!
Stella v6.4 changelog:
Added basic (entire and single line only) text cut/copy and paste.
Added color parameters to 'Custom' palette.
Some improvements to AtariVox-USB adaptor functionality:
Made serial port used for an AtariVox-USB adaptor editable.
Autodetection of serial ports no longer messes up devices plugged into other serial ports.
Added CPU load stats to debugger. Related to this, added debugger pseudo-registers '_ftimreadcycles' and '_fwsynccycles' to show the number of cycles since the start of frame under certain circumstances (see manual for more details).
Fixed bug with aspect correction and fullscreen mode; snapshots from such a mode are now pixel-exact.
Fixed a bug that caused CDF ROMs to crash on the Retron77 and reduced ARM emulation performance for CDF ROMs on other platforms.
Fixed crash with missing or incorrectly sized SaveKey data file, and with certain functions not working (erase pages, erase entire EEPROM).
Fixed Atari mouse autodetection.
Fixed bug in ROM launcher, with last ROM selected not being remembered when exiting and re-entering a directory.
