Bit of an early morning Amiga news story prior to Christmas, as our good friend Erik Hogan has yet again been hard at work at the Scorpion Engine with the latest test game release of ' Super-Go-Down-The-Hole '. This game originally released for the PC by Sergio Cornaga, is an extremely short but varied platform adventure in which you must traverse ever deeper into the ground while also avoiding dangerous enemies.

Another hot news story for all you retro gamers out there, as if you have a ZX Spectrum, you might be interested to know that as of today you can download a BIG sprite ZX Spectrum game called ' Krpat'. Now what makes this one rather special, isn't for the fact that it is a large sprite ZX Spectrum game, but for the fact that it finally sees the light of day after it was originally created back in the 90's by PeterMac who was a teenager at the time, and developed using Didaktik M, a Czechoslovak clone of ZX Spectrum 48K.

Could this Christmas get any better, oh yes it has! As we have just been informed via Saberman through Facebook, that you can now download the latest AMOS Demo of 'Streets of Rage Amiga'; a small demo of the incredible fighting brawler that was originally released back in 1991 that spawned multiple sequels including Streets of Rage 2, Streets of Rage 3 and yes even the modern variant of Streets of Rage 4.

When I was a wee lad spending all my money down at the Arcades, one such game I used to love was that fantastic platformer ' Wonder Boy ' designed by Ryuichi Nishizawa. Instead of those later Wonder Boy games which became more of an adventure platformer with RPG elements, such as the brilliant Wonderboy The Dragon's Trap. This game was all about a boy who at times rode a skateboard, jumped rocks, and with axe in hand dealt with snails, snakes and even bats!

Glorious news for this late Christmas evening, especially you are a fan of shoot em ups, as Psytronik Software has released the latest frantic shooter series for the C64 called ' Zap Fight Trilogy'. Featuring the graphics of Alf Yngve, code by Martin Piper and music by Richard, this rather eye opening shoot em up series is inspired by the classic game Slap Fight and features lots of blasting action and plenty of power ups to keep you busy.

No, this is not an out-of-season April Fools' joke (according to the press release at least); KFC is really launching a gaming console in partnership with Cooler Master. Named the KFConsole and designed after the Bargain Bucket, it seems to be somewhat akin to the Steam Machine or a PC gaming tower at the very least.
The KFConsole campaign began on 11 June, went viral on Twitter and even earned a meme-worthy status on social media but apparently this new competitor in the gaming scene will indeed hit the market. Importantly, this machine is touted as featuring the world’s first built in chicken chamber to keep its contents hot, ready for consumption.
KFC Gaming officially announces the KFConsole | GBAtemp.net - The Independent Video Game Community

WinUAE v4.5.0 Beta 13 is released. WinUAE is the commodore amiga emulator for Windows. WinUAE is a mostly complete software emulation of the hardware of the Commodore Amiga 500/1000/2000. A Commodore Amiga, for those who don’t know, is a 16/32 bit computer system based on the Motorola 680×0 CPU and a few specially designed custom chips that provide very good graphics and sound capabilities. Its first incarnation, the A1000, appeared in 1985, followed by the highly successful A500 and A2000 models. WinUAE is a port of the originally written for Unixish systems UAE; but over time, it seems the Windows port, WinUAE has become the best version available on any platform. WinUAE is free software: you are welcome to distribute copies of it and/or modify it, under certain conditions. There is no warranty of any kind for UAE. For more details concerning these issues, please read the GNU General Public License, which describes the terms under which WinUAE is distributed.

If you’re reading this, thank you for taking some time off Cyberpunk 2077, which is probably the hottest game at the time of this review. Despite all the wait (and the controversies), I’m curious to see it lives up to the hype or not. Until then, why not take a look with us at a game based on the very beginnings of the cyberpunk genre? I’m talking about Neuromancer. Neuromancer is an adventure game developed by Interplay and published by Electronic Arts. It was released originally in 1988 for the Commodore 64 and Apple II computers and the following year for the Amiga, Apple IIgs and DOS.

A long time ago Hewson Consultants made great games for old retro computers such as the fantastic Uridium, Paradroid, Cybernoid, Exolon, Nebulus and many more were just some of the games they released that many of us have played and enjoyed. Well if you loved playing Uridium and want to see what the original game would look like developed by a fan using Unreal Engine 4, then you might want to check out this remake of the 8bit classic, as it looks spectacular!

While many of you are playing the latest release from Protovision called ' Outrage ', another C64 game might be worth checking out, which is still in development and teased with a playable demo, and that is Syntax Error Software's C64 game of miniMIKE; a new demo that's also playable online which feels a bit like Load Runner, except with deadly traps to that of VVVVV or even Super Meat Boy!

Even though we've featured a number of Amstrad games these last few months, there's another game you might be interested in and again a port of a classic Arcade title and that's the upcoming Amstrad game 'Alcon 2020 ' developed by Abalore. Now if you've ever played Alcon in the Arcades or as it was known on the 8bit machines as Slap Fight, the developer is hoping this version will be more like the Arcades and not the 8bit version released in the late 80's... Although that was still a great game to play!

Throughout 2018 and into 2019 we were constantly banging on the drums about the fabulous C64 game 'L'abbaye Des Morts', which was developed by Antonio Savona, with graphics, music, sfx by Saul Cross and Gryzor, with full permission of Locomalito. Well fast forward to today and boy do we have some great news if you have Atari however! As if you've played this version on the C64 or any other system it was ported to, will be overjoyed to learn a high quality conversion has been released on the Atari Falcon.

Oyup! Is a falling blocks puzzle game designed for 1 or 2 players, and is a clone of the hugely successful Japanese SEGA arcade game Puyo Puyo, which was released in the west as Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine in 1993 for Megadrive, Master System and in 1994 on the Game Gear. Developer Nick Sherman will release the game on his “Arlasoft” itch.io page today - and will probably be available to download as you read this. He has also entered the game into Winter Games Development Competition 2020 - A game compo hosted by Retro Games LTD for C64 and VIC20.
