I'm having a problem Gp2x Wiz-Atari : Atari 800/130/5200 Emulator for Wiz
It used to display properly, but now when I go into the "Atari Menu" to load a 5200 cartridge, I do not see the text. The screen has the blue background and light blue highlights, which I can move around to the different menu options, but there isn't any text visible so I don't know what menu options I'm selecting. When I select any options, it takes me to the next submenus, which also have the same problem. I see text on all the other menus of this emulator (eg. Load Rom, Cheats, Keyboard, Joystick, Settings).
I've tried re-installing the emulator a few times. It is happening with version 1.1.0 and 1.1.1
Anybody know how I can correct this issue?

What we need in today’s handhelds is LESS resolution. Take a look at the video after the break to see the exciting action that [BrunoIP's] 4×4 LED matrix handheld game delivers. The device is made up of 16 bi-color LEDs, four buttons, and a PIC 16F628. There’s no schematic yet but it looks like there’s no need for shift registers, just some transistors to handle the current load for the rows of each color. We’ve seen a 64-pixel handheld that plays Super Mario Brothers, but this portable brings a top scrolling racing game with just 25% of that display size.

Nightcrawler has been working hard on some things that may be of interest to the Translation Community. The first of which is a document aiming to be: A reference to the file format, explanation for newcomers, and a helpful reference for programmers. A first draft has already been written. Suggestions and feedback are welcome in hopes that some may choose to adopt it. Adopting a standard would allow for standardized table file features and compatible utilities going forward. Additional details can be found on TransCorp.
The second item of interest is a yet to be named GUI Generic Dumper aiming to meet or exceed Cartographer in functionality for it’s first release. It will be the first utility to follow the new table file format standard (when finalized). An option to output in Atlas 1.1 compatible format is expected. Complimentary native insertion functionality is planned, but the first release will focus on dumping functionality only.
In addition, Nightcrawler has been working on several other items. He’s been tinkering with developing UVWF (SNES Universal VWF) to be applied to the sprite based text in Terranigma. He’s been working on continuing the Tenshi No Uta Project. Lastly, he’s been working with electrochip on experimenting with code that doesn’t work on a home made flash cart, but does on copiers and BSNES to better understand bare bones initialization on the hardware for a potential learner’s kit.
Plenty of additional information on all subjects can be found over at TransCorp!

We know the hazards that can befall retro gaming enthusiasts -- janky third party consoles and KIRFy handhelds not the least among them -- so it's nice to see someone put some real thought in their hardware. Available in retro-futurist red or sober, serious black, the RetroN 3 gaming system is compatible with your Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and SNES cartridges. And if that weren't enough for you (it seldom is, is it?) you can use a pair of the original controllers from either of those three systems. If that seems too awesome, it also packs its own wireless controllers. Available now for $70.

Here’s another small arcade cabinet. This time around it’s the racing simulator Daytona USA. [Pocket_lucho's] cabinet work has been featured before and he did some fine work with the control interface on this build. The wheel is from the controller of an RC car and the gear lever from a heavily used toy. He fashioned two pedals using gate hinges and a couple of leaf switches. The guts pack quite a punch with a mini ITX motherboard running the show. This will look great next to Ms. Pac-Man.

News via http://retroactionmagazine.com/retronews/robotz-dx/
Robotz DX is an updated PC remake/re-imagining of an Atari ST game called Robotz. Developed by James at RGCD (home of the quality html based indie/retro magazine of the same name) Robotz DX keeps the gameplay firmly in classic territory, what with Alien Breed/Gauntlet style dungeons gameplay action. The game is freely available to download, but a boxed copy can be obtained from the website for a small fee. We were very impressed with James’ last effort, r0x, and Robotz DX is looking just as impressive.

News via http://retroactionmagazine.com/retro...on-amtrad-cpc/
After a pretty lengthy time in development (ten years), Color Lines has finally been completed and released on the Amstrad CPC. Produced by Tom & Jerry, COlor Lines is a puzzle game inspired by the PC game Lines where you have match up lines (horizontal, vertical or diagonally) of five similar colour blocks across the grid, making them disapear and gaining points. The game’s disk image is available as a free download to use in CPC emulators and a boxed version is planned for the future.

Hi All,
ColEm is one of the best emulator of the ColecoVision videogame system running
on FreeBSD, HP-UX, SunOS, Solaris, Linux, and other Unix systems.
There are also ports to MacOS, MSDOS, Windows, OS/2, PocketPC and other systems.
See http://fms.komkon.org/ColEm/ for further informations.
Pandora-Colem is a port on Pandora of my previous Wiz port version of ColEm.
What's new in version 1.1.0 (compared to original version) :
- File requester with real and virtual keyboard to choose
sequentially rom files beginning with a given letter
- Thumbnail images for save states & file requester
- Save state files use gzip compression (with STZ as file extention).
You can use gzip or 7-zip to convert old STA to STZ.
STA file format is still supported for loading, so you
convert your previous saved files inside the emulator.
- Cheat support !
- Memory monitoring engine to find your own cheat code !
- Text editor to modify the global cheat.txt file
- Text editor to write your own comments on games
- Display first comment line while browsing game files
- Auto fire support for second joystick
- Zip rom files are decompressed in memory
- Add documentation for settings in help menu
- Auto-fire mode, press RTrigger+X to switch it on/off
- Add several new hotkeys :
. settings such as fps, render mode, auto fire speed
can now be directly modified inside the emulator
(no need to enter in the settings menu)
. quick save / quick load current state
(no need to enter in the main menu)
- Add ntsc/pal option
Sources are included, read COPYING.txt & README file for more information about it.
Here is a full working PND version & source code :

Enjoy,
Zx

News via http://www.romhacking.net/forum/inde...pic,11062.html
The first game in the Yugekitai series of doujin adventure games has been fully translated. It’s a humorous adventure game for the PC-98, about a band of wily youths battling to prevent the resurrection of a god of untold power. An unusual sense of humor and a unique cast of characters in this one. Give it a try.

Hi all,
XTiger is an unix emulator (under X Window) of a TI-92 calculator (Texas instruments).
It was originally written by Jonas Minnberg and was closed source.
Jonas Minnberg has not worked on XTiger for quite a while and he gave
Misha Nasledov the code and permission to GPL it.
Here is a port on Pandora of the version i've previously ported to GP2X-Wiz and Dingoo.
The package is under GPL Copyright and sources are included.
Many TI92 stuff can be found on the following urls :
http://www.ticalc.org, and on the texas instruments web site http://education.ti.com
Here is a PDF version of the manual : http://www.smendes.com/ti89.pdf
You may find a full working PND version on my blog, and of course the source as well :
http://zx81.zx81.free.fr
Enjoy,
Zx.
