Tim's] miniMAME‘s construction follows the “light and cheap” approach, using foam core board and hot glue. Sure it won’t last a nuclear attack, but at least it’s light enough to carry to a friend’s house.
With a removable netbook at the core, CCFLs, speakers, trackball, and mini arcade fighting stick, the project completely surpassed our expectations. For those looking to build a miniMAME, [Tim] includes lots of pictures, details, and plans allowing anyone to make their own in about an afternoon.

It was on July 24, 1985 that the Amiga 1000 computer had its debut at Lincoln Center in New York City. As you're no doubt aware, we have quite a fondness for Commodore in general and its Amiga offspring in particular, so it's only fitting that we would make a note of this auspicious anniversary. And if you're an unrepentant Amiga fanboy (the original fanboys), there was so much to love: color graphics! Stereo sound! Something called "multitasking!" This was a machine that took on all comers, and it coulda licked 'em, if circumstances (and some wonky decisions) on the business end of things hadn't got in the way. For a trip down memory lane, hit up the source link. As for us, we're going to go fire up our copy of Neuromancer and take it for a spin. Some things never change, indeed.

Hi All,
TI99Sim is a very good emulator of Texas Instruments TI99 home computer
running on Windows and Unix. The emulator faithfully imitates the TI99/4 model
(see http://www.mrousseau.org/programs/ti99sim/)
Pandora-TI99 is a port on Pandora Ångström of the version i've previously ported to Wiz.
How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.
If you want to convert games etc ... have a look to Ti99/sim web site
for more informations (http://www.mrousseau.org/programs/ti99sim/).
Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.
here it is
Enjoy,
Zx.

News via http://retroactionmagazine.com/retro...n-zx-spectrum/
Another wonderful and wacky platform game on the ZX Spectrum from the Mojon Twins. Sir Ababol is a young crusader from the 11th Century on a mission to track down the mysteries of wild ababol flowers. “What those red flowers which coincidentally were called like him were? Did it have to do with destiny? Since when the Alcoraz River flows into the Monegros’ Desert? Why St. Marta has a train station but not a tram line? How do I get to Jerusalem?” The game and artwork can be found at the Mojon Twins’ website.

Pinel & Pinel -- it's been awhile, hasn't it? The design boutique has just kicked things back into high gear with an all-new creation inspired by the era of wooden TVs, Bono's mullet and the original Engadget BBS. The 80's Trunk, a swank new arcade cabinet, is easily one of the most astounding creations we've ever seen, and there's no question that your basement is yearning for one as we speak. Unlike conventional cabinets, this one's equipped with an emulation system that houses 60 unforgettable titles (Pac-Man, Space Invaders and 1924, just to name a few), and there's also a plethora of color options to choose from. You're also looking at a 1080p LCD, enough amplification to wake the neighbors with bleeps and bloops and an iPod / iPhone docking station if you prefer your own background noise. Mum's the word on a price, but it'll probably come down to choosing between this and your first born's college education. You know what to do.

Hi All,
Tile World is an emulation of the game "Chip's Challenge". "Chip's Challenge" was originally written
for the Atari Lynx by Chuck Sommerville, and was later ported to MS Windows by Microsoft (among other ports).
See http://www.muppetlabs.com/%7Ebreadbox/software/tworld for details.
Here is a port on Pandora of latest version 1.3. This package does not come with the chips.dat file
that contains the original level set. This file is copyrighted and cannot be freely distributed.

Enjoy,

Hi All,
REminiscence is a re-implementation of the engine used in the game Flashback
made by Delphine Software and released in 1992.
It has been written by Gregory Montoir, see http://cyxdown.free.fr/reminiscence/ for details.
Here is port on Pandora of REminiscence 0.1.9.
http://zx81.zx81.free.fr/
Changelog :
- Add scale mode to fit Pandora Screen
- Add pandora keys A, B, X, Y, Start, L, R
- PND Package
You need orignal files from Flashback to play this game.
Once you have run the PND the first time it will create a directory
in <prefix>/pandora/appdata/reminiscence.
You must then copy all copyrighted files (FB_TXT.FNT, GLOBAL.FIB etc ..) in
<prefix>/pandora/appdata/reminiscence/DATA folder.
Next time you launch REminiscence it should work properly.
Enjoy,
Zx.

Hi All,
OpenTyrian is a port of the DOS shoot-em-up Tyrian. Jason Emery generously gave the OpenTyrian developers
a copy of the Tyrian 2.1 source code, which has since been ported from Turbo Pascal to C.
The port uses SDL, making it easily cross-platform.
See http://code.google.com/p/opentyrian/ for details.
Tyrian is an arcade-style vertical scrolling shooter.
Here is port on Pandora of the previous Wiz version :
http://zx81.zx81.free.fr/
Changelog :
- Add two scale modes to fit better Pandora Screen
- Support of pandora keys A, B, X, Y, Start, L, R
- PND Package
Tyrian 21 files are already present in the PND. See license.doc file for details.
Enjoy,
Zx.
