Below is a little "proof of concept" program that shows how to interface with PSP-290 GPS receiver from Sony.
The binaries and source can be obtained @ http://deniska.dcemu.co.uk/bin/PSP290TEST.rar
INSTALLATION:
This program was coded and tested for custom 3.03 OE-B firmware.

2) Place GPS_290_TEST folder in to /PSP/GAME303/ or whatever folder is setup to be ran under 3.03 kernel.
3) Connect your gps receiver and run the program...

Hi All,
Mancala is a board game familly, originated in East Africa. The word "Mancala"
came from arabic word "naqalah" that means literaly "To move". PSPMancala
is the "Awari" variant, and even if the rule of this game is simple, the complexity
can be compared to chess Game.
It has been developped on linux for Firmware 1.5 and i hope it works also
for 2.x using the great eloader (0.99x) from http://www.noobz.eu/.
The AI is based on the source code of H. Huseby & G.T. Lines, for their
implementation of the classical Minimax algorithm.
How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.
Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.
How to play ? Here is the rules available from awari.cs.vu.nl :
Awari is played on a board where each player owns 6 pits. In the initial
position, all pits are filled with four stones, thus the initial position has
48 stones.
The player to move chooses one of its own, nonempty pits and removes all
stones from the pit. The player then sows the stones, counterclockwise, over
the remaining pits.
If the last stone is sown into an enemy pit that contains 2 or 3 stones
after sowing, the stones are captured.
In this case, if the second last pit is also an enemy pit that contains 2 or
3 stones, they are captured as well, and this process is repeated clockwise,
until the own pit, or an enemy pit containing less than 2 or more than 3
stones is reached.
The player who captures most stones, wins the game. The game end when a
player cannot move, however, to avoid such a situation early in the game, it
is not allowed to do a move that leaves the opponent without countermove,
unless all moves eradicate the opponent.
Special thanks to all PSPSDK developpers.
Enjoy, and Merry Christmas,
Zx.

Someone (he wants to stay anonymous) just send me a mp about emulator porting on the PSP.
His question is interesting and might help other coders who want to begin to port something to PSP.
If you have any comment or question, please feel free to ask on this topic
Chip 8 is a good start. You should first of all be able to re-compile the emu on the good OS (i'm using linux, so i port only emulator running on linux).
Then, when you're able to compile and run the emulator on your PC, then you can start to port it to PSP (using cygwin etc ...).
The first task is to write a makefile, and comment out all no-psp code inside the source (such a graphical part, sound part etc ...). At the end of this first step you should have a non-working emulator, but a first prototype that you can compile for the PSP.
Then you add the main() function using PSP stuff (see ps2dev for details) to create user thread etc ... and to call the old_main function of the chip 8 emulator.
Then you will have to replace all the source code you've commented out, and rewrite the sound and graphical port (using SDL for example).
Hope that helps ...

via engadget
Will the myriad of modded consoles from Ben Heckendorn never cease? (We sure hope not.) The man who brought us the NES Micro, N64p, PPS2, Phoenix 2600, (not to mention an ongoing series of how-tos for Engadget) has finally updated his November 2005 hack of the Atari 800. That laptop, which combined a screen and the guts of the 1980s gaming system, has now been brought into the modern age (read: 2006) with a new case, a cleaner keyboard (with round keys!), and a breakout cartridge case. We particularly admire the Atari logo on the top, and Ben's usual attention to detail and a clean, efficient, design. Still, we can't wait for the day that Ben's talents get noticed by Apple, Dell, or another big-name laptop maker, so that more of the masses can be showered with his talent -- but then again, perhaps it's better that we keep him to ourselves. Check out a few more snaps on the next page, and then head over to benheck.com for his always thorough and entertaining build diary...
