Hi all if you are reading this newspost you are on the new server, im sure if you have visited this site regulary you will have noticed that the server has been slow especially on days when we push well over 2000 online at one time.
With Massive thanks to Martin64 our server admin we are on a much faster server, so the problems of the past should be well and truly over.
The DCEmu Network for those of you who are new or not sure of what we are is the only true network to support both Homebrew and Commercial Gaming across all consoles and not just the ones in the news.
We have sites that cover PSP, Dreamcast, GP2X, Nintendo DS, GBA/GB Micro, GP32, Tapwave Zodiac, Gizmondo, Sega Saturn, Gamecube, Nokia Ngage and Mobile Phones, Xbox, PS2, PS1, GP32, Ipod, Nintendo Revolution, PS3 and Xbox 360.
We also have hosted sites for some of the best coders across the console scene namely Chui, GPF, PSMonkey, Deniska, PLynx & Miemt11.
We also have a site for Gadgets and retrostuff too and each site has its own forum.
Last week i opened 2 new sites that will hopefully bring more people to the network in the form of a MMORPG site and a Real Time Strategy Site.
I am personally a massive fan of RTS games but like all the sites and forums, its the people who visit them and chat that make the network what it is.
Thanks for visiting a site that started just over 2 years ago and quickly grew as i brought my other sites over to make a network of sites and one with a name thats easy to remember, namely DCEmu - The Homebrew and Gaming Network.
Thanks for visiting our network

PSP Guide Library V2
This guide is on-going and will be constantly updated (at least to the best of my ability). Feel free to ask any PSP related question in this thread.
I originally created a guide back In August of 2005 called the "Running Homebrew and Emulation FAQ". It went through many changes and over the months evolved into a sort of guide library which spanned dozens of posts. Anywho, this is a new version of it which will contain not only guides by F34R and myself but will contain any guide PSP users here at dcemu want to contribute. My mission is to create the most comprihensive library compiled by multiple users which will cover everything from the most basic homebrew installation to the more advanced coding aspect of this community. Hopefully in due time things will start to pick up. If you want a link in this sticky just post here and ASK
Before you start your way into PSP homebrew goodness your going to want to know what firmware you have. Your firmware is extremely important in determining the method of installing firmware and the amount you can actually run.
How do I know which firmware version I have?
Turn on your PSP without a UMD in it and then go to settings. Then go down to where it says System settings and hit X. Then go down until you reach system information and hit X. It should come up with information about your MAC Address, System Software and your chosen Nickname. After you find out what firmware you have I'd reccomend you look through the many great guides the members and coders of DCemu have wrote.

I need someone with 2.0+ console to test the latest build.
PM me if interested.
1941 - level4:
Changes:
- added explosions when plane is hit
- increased the transparency level during the invinsibility period
- new enemy ( GROUNDER ) and objects BGPANEL/BGPANEL2 added.
sample definition:
00100|6|GROUNDER|200032
Last parameter isthe x,y coordinates in format x*1000+y
second parameter is the downscroll speed (5 = bg speed)
- added all sprites to "pre-loader" about 10 sprites were missing in v.8, and that cause minor hickups during the inital run of the levels.
- slightly changed AI and atacking patterns of some enemies
- changed the shield size for the plane to smaller and more realistic size..
- level4 (see screenshot)
- added the ending/bonus level.
- high scores are saved now
- added in-game messages fade-out
- better difficulty settings (the game is made easier on "EASY" setting
Let me know if someone wants to contribute to the development - I need a person with strong photoshop skills to create more enemy sprites and backgrounds...as wells as create levels data.

I'v gotten .d64 support working now in the c64 emulator, so now I can use snapshots created with the pc version of Frodo, as well as load .d64 disk images.
.t64 tape support isnt currently working because I havent been able to find a portable fscanf function, and/or figure out how to convert the following code.
Still have sound to fix, and couple issues with the onscreen keyboard. Next will be to figure out a menu for selecting options and .d64 images to mount etc.

Gamespot reports that a prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that Infinium Labs, makers of vaporware-of-the-year runner-up Phantom Game Console, have blown through nearly $63 million dollars, with only $3.5 million going to development costs. Half has been spent on advertising (advertising what?) and the other significant expense was... consultants. Why are we not surprised?
In order to recoup their losses, the company reiterated their intention to (further) delay their Phantom Game Service and concentrate on selling the lapboard peripheral. They are also having trouble paying their $25K/month Seattle rent, so if any readers in the Seattle area have an extra bedroom, or a converted garage, give 'em a call.

NOTE: If you don't have the full version, you can save space on your ms by removing unnesessary s3m files:
you only need ones with the same names as PSM files in the distribution.
(for example: leave MENUSNG.S3M if you have MENUSNG.PSM).
To save more space you can remove EXE & PSM files.
Sound FX support is still minimal: jump, shoot and get item events are linked to the wav files (jump.wav, shot.wav..)
If you have the original/better samples overwrite these files
CONTROLS
----------------
[X] FIRE
[R.TRIGGER] JUMP
[O] CHANGE WEAPON
[SELECT] BACK TO MENU/EXIT
[TRIANGLE] ENTER
Enjoy,
DENIS

Success HK have posted this new Media Player for sale on their site:
Imagine, that you are holding a device smaller than 9x12 image on which you can look over a photo, play video, audio records, mp3, listen to favorite radio station and, at last, watch TV program and immediately write down what you liked on a 20 GB hard disk. And all this you can see on a big 3.5 TFT-LCD monitor. Are you dreaming already? A little is left to wait. Most of the multimedia players do not aupport RAW file format. But, Premier DP-3520 support RAW file format from most of the Digital Camera. For more details, please refer the specification of DP-3520.

Success HK have posted this new Camera for sale on their site:
The 5 megapixel digital camera is the first consumer-oriented digital camera with a dual lens system, which Kodak calls its Retina technology. This system incorporates a very wide 23mm lens with a non-extending 39-117mm zoom lens for a combined 5x optical zoom. The two lenses enable photographers to capture wide angles or to close in on a subject from far away ?all with non-extending lenses. The Schneider-Kreuznach lenses stay within the 0.8-inch thick camera body at all times, so the V570 keeps its slim profile for better portability. The Kodak V570 keeps the same LCD screen from the earlier V550 flagship. The LCD is a nicely sized 2.5 inches and has 230,000 pixels of resolution. Like its V-series counterparts, the Kodak EasyShare V570 is very automatically oriented. It has an auto mode, 21 scene modes, a movie mode, and a Favorites mode that utilizes the 32 MB of internal memory to store photographs and video clips for easy sharing and transfer. The Kodak V570 comes with an EasyShare Photo Frame Dock 2

SuccessHK have let me know that for the time being they have both the Treamcast and Widescreen Treamcast at their store:
The Treamcasts are homebrew friendly and can be plugged into a TV, the price is $180 or around £100 so its a bit steep but as far as i know they are the only shop to stock the console.
